Extension Activities and Support Services (N.S.S.)
With a view to instinct a sense social service the college in different times has opened as many as four NSS units under the active leadership of Programme Officers Teachers. Such units function towards the attainment of following activities:
- To instill a sense of civic responsibilities among the students.
- To encourage students to participate in social welfare activities.
- To develop leadership qualities among the students.
- To grow in them the ability to work as a team.
- To build a good Citizen for our Society.
The College NSS Units run under the active guidance and support of NSS cell, Vidyasagar University.
Apart from organizing regular normal camps, every year Special Camps are organized and the students take part in such camps and undertake various social welfare activities. Students can enroll themselves here and join different social and development programmes within and outside the college at leisure time, especially during the winter holidays Besides, the NSS units also organize Seminars, Workshops, Blood Donation Camps and also participate in various National Integration camps held in different parts of our country from time to time. At present NSS units have adopted four villages located near the college as noted below where the focus of their activities is intensified.
The motto of the NSS is “ Not me but You”.

National Cadet Corps (N.C.C) Unit:
The college has a NCC unit with 125 cadets (Male-85, Female-40). Capt. Dr. Naranarayan Dash, Head, Department of Sanskrit is acting as the A.N.O. leading this unit. Besides regular Army Training organized in the College as per the NCC norms and regulations, the NCC unit undertakes many NCC activities like participation in camps like, NIC,TSC, Army Attachment, Para-Sailing etc. It is noteworthy here that the cades of this college regalarly participate in the Republic Day Parade in Delhi and Kolkata. NCC unit of this college has already established its reputation of generating employment in different Govt. Sectors as well as different units of Indian Army, Para- military Forces, West Bengal Police and others. NCC volunteers are disciplined and trained volunteers also make them available for the cause of society like disaster operation, awareness programme, maintaining local laws and order activities etc. The college has introduced Defence Studies, a Course at UG level which is, for the first time, in the history of Vidyasagar University. The students od Defence Studies get quality training and exposure by way of attachment with college NCC unit. It gives a unique platform to groom the students to be a good citizen.
The motto of NCC is “Unity and Discipline.”
It is worth-while to mention that NCC is the largest platforms for our youthface nourish and nurtured by the Government of India. Being a Cadet of NCC unit a student feels pride for having enrolment given by the Honourable President of India as well.
