A spacious state of art Seminar Hall is now one of the grate attractions where different types of Seminar, Workshops, Training Programme, Cultural Programme and similar other events are organized throughout the year.
The college has a Sub-Committee entrusted to offer Career Counselling comprising of teachers of different Departments. During admission to 1st year classes and also after the final examination of the University, the Committee extends their hands to the interested students to choose the right career. It is under the active initiatives of the college large number of students get placement through organization of Campus interview including online interview. Dr Rasmita Satapathy, Assistant Professor, Department of Philosophy and Prof. Sandip Banerjee, Asst. Prof, Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management look after the affairs with a team of other teaching and non-teaching members. The College dreams to open some other contemporary job-oriented courses under the active support of this Cell/Committee to place our students in different nation-building activities.
It is heartening to note that the college runs some highly job-oriented courses like Aquaculture Management (Hons), Industrial Fish and Fisheries ( B. Sc. Major), Fishery and Farm Management (Three Year B.Voc Degree) and Hospitality and Tourism Management (Three Year B. Voc. Degree), where 100 percent placement is provided to the successful students. Institute of Cost Accountants in India visits the College every year to counsel the students to enrol their Institute. RICE, an well-known Training Institute regularly counsel the students to go for regular training for various government sector jobs. Gillette India, Ananda Bazar Patrika, IBBS etc are our regular partners and they motivate our students to choose their career as per their ability and choice. At the same time, all the faculty members regularly counsel our students as a true friend, philosopher and guide. As a result, the College has successfully produced a galaxy of well-placed students in the different arenas of our society.
The college Nutrition and Physiology Department jointly organize Free Health Check-up Camp taking assistance of Local Hospital and/or similar other medical agencies for the benefit of students, teachers, non-teaching staff and other on regular interval.
With a view to enough practical exposure the college organises various Workshops, Seminars, Exhibition etc. throughout the year. In fact, this type of initiatives have become a regular feature mostly undertaken by the Science faculties either singly or in collaboration with some reputed concerns/institutes. Students participated this programmes with zeal and enthusiasm.
Liberal concession in tuition fees are granted by the college to the poor but meritorious students under B.P.L.& Antodaya category provided they maintain 75% of attendance. The Government liberally grants special stipends to schedule caste and schedule tribe students to meet fees and boarding charges.
a) The best student of the college every year is awarded scholarship of Rs. 50.00 namely Nitya Gopal Scholarship w.e.f. 1975. The G.B. of this college is grateful to Nitya Gopal Mondal (Ex-Manager, U.B.I., Ramnagar Branch) for this scholarship.
b) Dr. Satish Chandra Maikap, M.A., B.T., a distinguished man of Ramnagar P.S., intro- duced a scholarship named Reena Memorial Scholarship of Rs. 100.00 for the best girl student of this college.
c) Sri Sujoy Kr. Das introduced a scholarship named Minati Memorial scholarship for the best student of this college.
d) Sripati Charan Pradhan Memorial Scholarship is awarded to the best student.
With a view to assist the deserving students particularly by way of providing individual coaching with supply of necessary study materials the college started Remedial Coaching since Ninth Plan (2002-2007). At present, due to non-supportive fund by the UGC the college takes special initiatives by spending money out of its own fund to run this programme. A designated Professor takes the special initiative to implement the Scheme.
A student may apply to see his/her answer script of examined paper in prescribed format after remitting fees within 15 days from the date of issue of mark sheet.
A student cannot apply for review after he/she has seen his/her answer script. A student will not to be allowed to apply for self-inspection and re-examination simultaneously. However, report of self-inspection by the student will be considered by the Controller of Examinations and necessary measures will be taken accordingly.
A candidate may apply for cancellation of his/her entire result of any Semester to the Controller of Examinations for improvement of his/her result within 30 (Thirty) days after the publication of results. However, there will be no provision of cancelling result of any singular subject/paper in any case.
In all cases, cancellation of result will be counted as one chance lost. Such candidates shall have to surrender their original Mark sheet along with the application for cancellation of the result.
There are separate common rooms for male and female students. A number of journals and newspapers are supplied to the common rooms. There are arrangements for indoor games like Table Tennis, Carrom etc.
Apart from the Departmental compliment cells the college redrecess all the complaint received form the students centrally This cell remains active to redrecess any grievances as and when revived at the earliest.
With a view to ensure quality in academic and other supportive activi- ties, the college continuously monitor- ing its activities with a set of pre-determined standards set inter- nally and externally. To judge the level of excellence by a well-reputed third party the college went for first time NAAC assessment in the year 2016 and obtained 'Grade B'. The second cycle of the NAAC assessment becomes due on 2021.'
As per the judgment of the Supreme Court, the college strictly adheres to and implements the anti-ragging policy stringently.
A cell for prevention of "Sexual Harassment" has been constituted to safeguard better safety to female students and Female staff of the college.
The college has a RTI Cell to comply with the any requirement of section 4 of RTI Act The college website is also updated with relevant information as required under see 4 of RTI Act 2005.
Liberal concession is granted in tuition fees to needy and meritorious students by the college. This facility is also extended to the students belonging to economically weaker category having at least 75 percent of attendance. Mr. Mahitosh Das has created an endowment fund and yearly corpus of the same is distributed to the students securing top position in each and every Department.
The college has two separate Hostels one for the Boys (20 seats) another for the Girls (Vidyashree) having capacity to accommodate 60 boarders. Both the Hostels are located in the college campus and managed by the Hostel Sub-Committees. Admission is governed through notification and strictly on the basis of distance from the residence of the students. Priorities are given to the students belonging to the SC, ST, OBC and Physically Challenged categories.
The college has a democratically elected Students' Union. They are the spokesmen of the students community keep liason with the other stakeholders including the Principal for the causes of the students community. The various activities undertaken by the Students' Union are as follows:
Organizing Annual Festival, Book Fair, Fresher's Welcome, Cultural Programme, various competitive events etc.

The College offers facilities of physical exercise to the students through games like Volley Ball, Cricket, Indoor Games etc, being played at present in the hostel-playground, However, the college has a plan and the negotiation in this respect is also going on as to procure land beside its main campus to provide its students a spacious playground in the near future.
The Annual Alumni Meet brings to our Alumnus a chance to reconnect with their refreshed and new ones to be formed. The college Alumni Association (Reg. No.- S/2L/45437) and their second Alumni Meet was organized in the month of February, 2020.
