INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE CELL (IQAC)

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at Ramnagar College was established on 21st December 2010, as mandated by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It plays a pivotal role in enhancing the overall quality of education and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the institution.

Key Functions and Activities:
  • Data-Driven Approach: IQAC diligently collects and analyzes data related to various aspects of college functioning, including teaching-learning processes, student support services, research and innovation, infrastructure, and community engagement. This data-driven approach informs the identification of strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.

  • Quality Enhancement Initiatives: Based on the data analysis, IQAC develops and implements a range of quality enhancement initiatives. These include:

    • Faculty Development Programs: To enhance teaching-learning skills.

    • Student Support Services: To improve student learning outcomes.

    • Infrastructure Development: To enhance the learning environment.

    • Innovative Teaching-Learning Methods: To promote active learning and engagement.

    • Motivating Students for MOOCs: To encourage students to utilize online learning resources.

    • Establishing SWAYAM NPTEL Local Chapter: To provide access to quality online courses and facilitate student learning.

  • Regular AQAR Submissions: IQAC ensures the timely submission of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) every year as per UGC guidelines. This report provides a comprehensive overview of the college's performance and progress in quality enhancement.

  • Stakeholder Interaction: IQAC actively engages with various stakeholders, including students, faculty, parents, alumni, and community members, to gather feedback and suggestions for improvement. This ensures that the college's activities align with the needs and expectations of all stakeholders.

  • Dissemination of Best Practices: IQAC disseminates best practices and innovative teaching-learning methods among faculty members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the college.

Structure and Composition:

The IQAC is headed by the Principal of the Ramnagar College and includes faculty members, administrative staff, students, and external experts. The composition of the IQAC is determined by the college's governing body and adheres to the guidelines issued by the UGC. The current IQAC at Ramnagar comprises of 14 members and was constituted on 18th August 2023 in the Governing Body meeting.
